Barcelona and the French Rivera

Well I have been in bed the past two days until today. This weekend we are off to Barcelona and the French Rivera. The weekend started by arriving at the train station Thursday evening. After our arrival we boarded the bus to Cannes. We arrived in Cannes at about 1AM. The hotel was very nice. Since it was so late, and I wasn't feeling the best I headed right to be.

The next morning we got up and ready! The hotel had a nice jacuzzi tub in our room. So I took a nice relaxing bath. It was great. We then headed down for breakfast. The hotel had the best chocolate chip croissants. After breakfast we headed out to explore Cannes. Cannes had beautiful yachts. There were huge and lined the water. We continued down the main strip, and checked out the Ritz Carlton. Then headed to where they have the international film festival, and took pictures on the red carpet. It's crazy that in a month celebrities will be standing on the red carpet. We headed back on the bus to head to St.Tropes.

St. Tropes was small and very expensive. There were some cute shops, and shops with a lot of artwork. We just walked around and found a spot to eat. We ended up getting an egg ham and cheese crepe. It was very good. After our late lunch we headed back on the bus to Barcelona. We arrived in Barcelona at about 2am. Our hostel was all about sports. The room was very tiny for six people but nice.

We were up bring and early the next morning for an all morning walking tour. We saw buildings done by Gouty, the cathedral, and the market. We walked through the crowded streets. The market we went to had the best smoothies. After our guided tour we took the subway to see Segrada Familia and Park Guell. We walked all around Park Guell. It was a huge park. We didn't get to sit on the marble park benches because they were sold out. However, we saw it from a far. There was this band in the park that was just amazing. They had great music and were just so happy. We headed back to the hotel before going to the flamenco show later that night. The flamenco show was very interesting. It was not as elaborate as I was expecting. However it was very cool. It great to see the Spanish culture. After dinner we at some paella. It was so good. Then we headed back to the hostel. We walked 15 miles in Barcelona needless to say I was exhausted.

The next morning we headed out to visit Olympic stadium. It was cool to see. It was free to get in which was great as well. This was the stadium of the 1992 Olympics. After, we headed down by the water. We walked along the water. There were a lot of open markets and a food festival. It was awesome to look at all the artwork and local artists. I really enjoyed it.

We ended to day by getting on the bus and heading to nice. We arrived in nice about 1AM. I headed straight to bed. In the morning we had breakfast and then headed to explore Nice. I enjoyed Nice. We spent most of the day collecting sea glass on the beach. It was such a beautiful day outside. The views were beautiful too! I could have spent all day on the beach. It was very relaxing. About lunch time we left Nice and headed to Monte Carlo. Montenegro Carlo was beautiful. We saw the race track and the famous casinos. It was a beautiful day again. We took a nap on the steps by the water too. It was very relaxing. We then headed back on the bus to Florence.

This bus ride was the worst. There was a ton of traffic due to Easter weekend and wrecks. We were very behind in traveling. We didn't get back to Florence until 3:30 AM. It was a total of about a nine hour dive that was supposed to be six. OverallI it was a very good weekend. I enjoyed Barcelona and the French Rivera.
