If you are reading this, you most likely have no idea what the title says. You might be able to make out the word Gatto, but that's only if you took Spanish. Then you know gatto is cat. Otherwise, you are probably clueless to what the title of this is. Well, it is by far my favorite place to eat in Florence. No joke people, I have eaten here weekly... It's kind of like once you find a gem you don't ever want to get rid of it. Well this place is a gem! It is so so so good. This is actually the very first place I ate while in Florence, and will be the very last. Our school was kind enough to take us there the very first night we were in Florence. I am so glad they did.

Many students and I have taken the time to get to know the staff and the owners. We even see them out around town. They do speak English, which is nice, but we still attempt to order in Italian. We particularly got to know a man who works there named Fabio. He is just great. He always makes us laugh, and checks in with how we are doing. The staff I am sure recognizes us and enjoys our company.

Two out of the three times I have ordered the same thing. You all probably think I am crazy, but it is just so good! The first and most recent time I have gone, I have ordered the margherita pizza con buffula. This simply is a cheese pizza but it has fresh mozzarella. It is by far the best pizza I have had in Italy! It is huge. Don't worry though, go on an empty stomach and you will be fine! The second time I ate here a bunch of us ordered family style. Now family style is fantastic. You want to have at least four people for this. For twenty euros you get bread (the best fresh warm bread you will ever have), unlimited water, unlimited wine, an appetizer of different meats, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. Finally, for the main meal, you get 3-4 bowls of pasta depending on the total amount of people you have. None the less this meal is wonderful and huge! At the end if you know the owners like we do, they might even give you a free limoncello shot on the house.

If you are looking for a great place to eat, which represents Florence I suggest to go here. They have a variety of things on their menu. This includes appetizers, pasta, pizza, main meals, and even wonderful desserts. There is also a bar; if you just want to go for a drink. The prices vary from about eight euros up to about thirteen euros. This doesn’t include the prices for drinks. Drinks can range from 2 euros to about 6 euros. Just all depends on what you are in the mood for.

I would suggest getting to the restaurant around eight in the evening. The one time we went it was about seven, and we were the only people there. Italians enjoy eating late. Anyways, on the weekends I highly suggest making a reservation. This restaurant is always packed then. All in all The Cat and the Fox is a great place to eat!
