The Margarita Bar is a famous little place in Florence for many students. This little hole in the wall bar has some of the best food and drinks one will come across in Florence. The Margarita Bar is especially popular during the times of 5:30-8:30pm as it is happy hour. Happy hour means half off of the normal eight euros margaritas for only four euros. It is a great place to go if you want to just relax for a drink. Although, I will say this place is much more suited for women then it is for men. The music is mostly 90’s music, which girls sing along too. They played Outkast, Black-Eyed-Peas, and even the infamous Brittany Spears (haven’t heard her in a while). Now the margaritas here are spectacular. They are very sweet, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth this is not your place. The bar has both shaken and frozen margaritas. This time we all managed to get frozen margaritas. We had flavors like: mango, strawberry, coconut, melon, and wildberry. You bet your bottom dollar we each took a sip of each other drinks to try the different flavors. The challenge with these frozen margaritas was the mess they made, and the challenge of drinking them before have of it was on your lap. I ordered a mango one, and I am pretty sure about on quarter of it ended up on the table. Next time, I think I will go with the shaken ones. They are a little bit cleaner and not so messy.
This margarita bar also had phenomenal quesadillas. They were fresh out of the oven, made with fresh cheese, and hot as can be. I will say they were much better than the Mexican restaurants. They filled your belly right up! Although what I have started to notice in Europe is when ordering food at a restaurant; it is not a “thing” to bring all the food out at the same time. So one person may be finished eating when the last person is still getting their food. Yes we have all tried the wait until everyone gets their food, but then your food gets cold. So we all have kind of given up on that. Overall, this place is a pretty good little place to relax in Florence.
