An Early Morning in Amsterdam

It is an early morning here in Amsterdam. It is about 8:45AM. We have been here since about 6AM. Boy let me tell you I can already start to feel the jet lag! It will be a long but much exciting day! I left Pittsburgh this morning at about 1:30PM. The first flight was nice and easy, well we were a little bit cramped. All was good my big duffle fit in the overhead bin. From there we didn't have much time at all by the time we hopped off our plane in Detriot Emily and I ran to grab some McDonalds, and then straight to our gate. We were boarded and on to the long part of the trip. Once on the plane it was nice we got all situated. It was a HUGE plane. I'm talking two, three, two across. I sat next to a guy on this plane... He wasn't very social. However he was nice enough to let me use his hot spot when we landed... But that is besides the point. This flight won't be forgotten and I am not looking forward to the one coming home. Let's just say air plane food is not very good. The best part about the meal was my crackers and roll. The breakfast wasn't too bad but the dinner.. Ehhh.. Thank goodness I will be in Florence for lunch! I did however treat myself to a nice Jack and Coke, while watching If I stay, Marry Poppins, and Happy Feet. There were some amazing choices of movies. The last two hours of the flight got me. My knees were aching and I was ready to just be out of there. After arriving in Amsterdam we then went through customs! I made it! And I didn't get stopped or have my bag gone through. Which leaves me to where I am now.. Sitting at the gate, the furthest one from customs thinking about the journey that lies ahead. I did however get to watch a beautiful morning sunrise with planes landing and taking off. I must say that's one good thing about being a morning person, and I am gonna have to be this semester!

Our first plane leaving from snowy Pittsburgh. This thing was tiny... I feel like my luggage hit every person walking down the asile.

Above is breakfast... The egg sandwich and orange juice was great. I was a bit confused why we got cheese and nutella.. Then I realized that they were for the crackers and it wasnt boscitti.

The dinner... That I ate about two bites of pasta... The whole role, a bite of salad, and the cheese and crackers.

The sunset over the plane.
Ciao for now! The next post will be from Florence!
