Today marks exactly two weeks until I begin my adventures to Florence, Italy. Two weeks from today at this exact time I will be headed off to the airport. My flight flys out of Pittsburgh, then to Detriot, a red eye to Amsterdam, and then the final arrival in Florence. I am sure it will be a long day, but good thing I can pretty much sleep anywhere so rest on the plane will not be a problem.
Once arrived in Florence I will have a week of orientation. This will allow me to get oriented with Florence, friends, and the school before school actually starts. While in Florence I will be taking a hefty load of 18 credits. However this will be nothing compared to my previous semester of 21 credits. I will be living with five other women, and traveling all of Europe. I am excited to begin the adventure all though I'm sure I will be homesick the first week or two, and I am not exactly ready to say good bye to my family and friends for the next four months. Good thing they make apps like Viber, Whatsapp, Skype, and of course Facebook. These will be my tools to still see what is going on back home, and keep in contact with everyone. I will have a phone number over there but to talk with you I am gonna have to call you! Don't you worry I will give everyone the information they need!
It's crazy to me how fast this time as come, and let me tell you I have a pile of things that need to go, but only taking two suitcases for four months is going to be a struggle! I think the hardest part is just going to be able to fit everything. My dad has alwasy taught me to pack light, but that never seems to work... Well this time it is gonna have too! Good thing I do not have to pack things like bedding, cookware, and only need towels. Our apartments come with everything but towels ( that I think I can manage). I've gathered some things like a new raincoat and rainboats for those raining days! Good thing I will be missing the snow! (wooo hooo). A new packback to take on weekend trips, some new clothes, a supply of make up, and of course my amazon gift card to purchase books to read while traveling.
While in Europe I hope to travel many places. My top places to visit includle Ireland, Londan, Austria, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Paris, many cities in Italy, Germany, and many more. I plan to travel I would say two - three times a month, and then on spring break. We do not have Friday classes, which allows us to travel on the weekends. It will be an adventure for sure! A lot of the trips go through student groups, which allows for safe travels. My favorite company is called Bus to Alps. If you would like to look at them jusst google Bus to Alps. The site is great and shows you all the places I will be travelling or could be traveling! I am excited to begin this journey and for you all to travel with me to the corners of the world!
Ciao!
